What you can expect from Radar El Niño, what it does not promise and what happens to your data: we store nothing about you.
Last updated: October 27, 2026.
What this site is
- Radar El Niño is a non-commercial project that gathers public data from official agencies and explains it in plain language.
- It is not an official source and does not replace Civil Defense, INMET, ANA or any other agency. In an emergency, follow Civil Defense: 199. Fire Department: 193. SAMU: 192.
No guarantees
- Data arrives with a delay and may contain errors or source failures. The site does not guarantee it is complete, correct or up to date and is not responsible for decisions made based on it.
- River forecasts and ranges are statistical, not official. Official reference levels come from the SGB, where they exist.
Use of data and texts
- The data belongs to its sources and follows the licenses listed on the methodology page. When reusing anything, credit the original source.
- The site's texts and organization belong to the project. To reuse them, cite Radar El Niño and the original source of the data.
Privacy
- We do not ask for sign-up, have no accounts and do not store personal data: name, e-mail, location or browsing history.
- The site uses no tracking or advertising cookies and therefore shows no cookie notice.
- The accessibility menu choices (text size, theme, contrast and others) are kept in your browser, not on our servers, and only serve to remember your preference.
- The city search sends what you type to our server only to return the results. We do not store those texts.
- Hosting (Vercel) and the database (Supabase) may record technical access data, such as the IP address, for security and operation. That stays with those providers, under their policies.
- Usage statistics: the site may use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits per page and country without cookies and without identifying visitors.
Third-party services
- Maps load images and data from OpenFreeMap and EOX. A river's live video loads only when you press the button and comes from YouTube in no-cookie mode (youtube-nocookie.com). These services receive your IP address to deliver the content.
- Links to other sites (news, official warnings, video channels) lead to pages we do not control.
Your rights and changes
- Since we store no personal data, there is none of yours to access, correct or delete here. Any question can be sent through the contact on this page.
- These terms may change. The date of the last update is at the top.
